Jeremy's Camp

Named after Jim’s cousin. As a child in the 1960’s visiting from Masteron, Jeremy was the first Wheeler to ever set up a tent on this site.

Kiwi camping at its best. This is the closest site to Lake Wainamu and the sand dunes. Walk-in or drive to the camp.
Akin to a Trampers Hut but with additional features for comfort including a private outdoor bath with hot & cold water and a view, an outdoor Koru shaped shower and modern flushing toilet.

Jeremy’s Camp suits groups who may want exclusive use, and conversely suits the individual, independent tramper and surfer. There is space here to also pitch 2 medium size tents if you want to bring your own. Contact us prior to booking for details and availability to pitch you own.

Note: Sleeps 5 in the tent (camp stretcher beds), the site can sleep up to 10 (with guests own tents, beds & bedding), there is a surcharge of $50 per additional adult.

Camp Pantry:

Here you’ll find everything you’ll need for camp cooking on the gas Weber BBQ or wood fire, and dining. From cutlery, plates, pots and pans to coffee cups and tea towels.

Picnic Hamper

Great for lunches, a pre-dinner snack or after dinner supper.

Pending availability, the Picnic Hamper includes cheese, dips, tomatoes, artisan crackers, relish, cold meats and the like.

Delivered to your camp in time for your arrival. You'll find it in the chilly bin.

A free-range chicken & vegetable roast to cook over the campfire, often called a Dutch Oven.

Wainamu Transfers

Available for transferring walkers one-way overland from Muriwai back to Wainamu, Bethells Beach or Bethells Cafe.

Airport transfers can also be arranged pending availability.
