HAP'S CAMP (dog friendly)
Named after Jim’s father. Edward Wheeler was also known as ‘Hap’ short for Happy Wheeler. A unique secluded bush site on sand dunes. This is our one and only dog friendly camp. As this site sits alongside the sand dune accessed only by four-wheel drive, we can deliver you to Edward’s Camp or you can walk in from our car park. Allow 10 minutes.

Dog Policy:
The dog basics are simple guidelines when your pooch stays towards our land and area. Up to date flea and worm treatment. Dogs on leads if prone to wander or chase rabbits. Otherwise, on the campsite, they can be with you. Pet beds provided by you and no pooches on the furniture, please. Doggie poo bags and bin spade provided. If any damage from your pooch occurs this needs to be replaced or repaired.

In the Camp Kitchen
Here you’ll find everything you’ll need for camp cooking on the gas Weber BBQ or wood fire, and dining. From cutlery, plates, pots and pans to coffee cups, wine glasses and tea towels.
The Bathroom
Private and exclusively yours. Includes open-air bath and shower with running hot and cold water, flushing modern toilet, washbasin, towels and essentials. Situated in close proximity to your campsite, yet sufficiently away for your comfort and privacy.

Picnic Hamper
Great for lunches, a pre-dinner snack or after dinner supper.
Pending availability, the Picnic Hamper includes cheese, dips, tomatoes, artisan crackers, relish, cold meats and the like.
Delivered to your camp in time for your arrival. You'll find it in the chilly bin.

Wainamu Transfers
Available for transferring walkers one-way overland from Muriwai back to Wainamu, Bethells Beach or Bethells Cafe.
Airport transfers can also be arranged pending availability.
